Hedieh Lotfi (b. 1987 Tehran) constructs carefully staged scenes in which figures appear suspended between uncertainty and possibility. Her photographs, drawing on personal experiences and observations of society, evoke moments of hesitation and disconnection without following a specific narrative or reaching a defined outcome.
In Lotfi’s work, photography and sculpture are intertwined through staging, the construction of spaces, objects and cinematic lighting. The sculptures develop alongside the photographs, extending their spatial
and material presence. Lotfi received her BA in photography from Art and Architecture University in Tehran in 2009.
